The Papier d'Arménie brand was created at the end of the 19th centuray after Auguste Ponsot travelled to the Ottoman Empire and visited Armenia. He discovered the local people perfumed and disinfected their houses by burning Benzoin. When he returned to France, he decided to bring back this traditional and ecologically method.
The essential component in Papier d'Arménie products is imported from Laos where the Styrax Benzoin - tree which crude benzoin is extracted from - is traditionally grown.
Papier d'Arménie has since grown, developed and perfected its range from candles to the booklets! Papier d'Arménie uses an absorbent paper approved by the FSC, an independent international organization for responsible management of the world's forests and mostly natural components.
Papier d'Arménie products are unique, handmade, original presentation and have an incomparable fragrance!
